Chorizos Lose to Volcanes in Walk-Off
|
Volcanes fans were sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
René Gálvez, who is tied for 5th in the LS with a 2.03 ERA, propelled his team to victory over the Toluca Chorizos. The final score was 4-3, Ciudad Mexico. Lázaro Polino snagged the win in relief. He goes to 7-4 on the season. Agustín Amador suffered the loss.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Ciudad Mexico trailing 3-2, Américo Peralta hit a cutter from José Veliz to right for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Volcanes had a walk-off win.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Toluca manager Santiago Ferra.
Ciudad Mexico has an impressive 84-39 record.
