Culiacan Beats Nuevo Laredo, 3-1

Though the conditions were not ideal, the Culiacan Galanes and Nuevo Laredo Colibris came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
Juan Pérez, who finished 4th in the LN in innings pitched with 297.1 in 1905, propelled his team to victory over the Nuevo Laredo Colibris. The final score was 3-1, Culiacan. Culiacan has now won 8 games in a row.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Pearce Adams came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Nuevo Laredo pitcher Jonás Zavala, he hit a 1-0 splitter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Culiacan on top, 2-1.
"We're playing hard," said Pérez, "and we're playing to win."
