The Veracruz Vigias and Merida Trovadores completed their game despite the rain.

Veracruz registered a win at Parque de los Vigías by beating the Merida Trovadores, 2-1. Pitcher Matías Ochoa was one reason why the Vigias triumphed. The 5th-place Vigias now have a win-loss record of 70-62.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 12th, 30-year old catcher Darío Cando had a chance to be the hero. Merida pitcher Mamerto Legorreta had other ideas. But with one out, Cando hit a sacrifice fly. The Vigias had themselves a dramatic win.

"This place went berserk," Cando said.
