The Oaxaca Zapotecos rode a solid performance from 38-year-old starting pitcher Jorge Castro to a win, beating the Hidalgo Cornicos, 4-2, at Campo de Oaxaca. The Zapotecos now have a record of 52-73 with the win over Hidalgo.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when left fielder Joe Renny reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run. The Zapotecos went on to win.

"I liked the focus, I liked the effort," said Zapotecos manager Dave Oldfield.
