Michoacan turned a good performance from starting pitcher Rodrigo Martínez into a 5-1 triumph over the Oaxaca Zapotecos at Campo Municipal de Morelia. Martínez yielded 1 run over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 13-10.
The two teams provided some entertaining baseball for the Campo Municipal de Morelia crowd. Regardless of the outcome, a good time was had by all.
"Rodrigo was able to execute his pitches," said Michoacan manager Pablo Sánchez. "Simple as that."
