The Campeche-Hidalgo matchup turned into a slugfest.

Due in part to center fielder Bonifacio Cruz, the Campeche Corsarios chopped down the Hidalgo Cornicos, 13-11, in 10 innings. Cruz was 3-6 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Manuel Nevárez picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 6-4. Ignacio Vegas suffered the loss.

Campeche used the timely hitting of Rafael Romo to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Corsarios on top, 12-11. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Hidalgo manager Rafael Alecio said he was disappointed with the loss. "Whenever you score that many runs, you expect to win the game."

The Corsarios improved their record to 75-52 by beating Hidalgo.
