In a low-scoring affair between the Toluca Chorizos and the Chiapas Quetzales, pitcher Palamedes Serrano was the difference between victory and defeat. The Toluca right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Chorizos win. Serrano, the winner, moves to 16-12. He threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 3 walks. Aristarco Paredes earned the save for Toluca, his 19th.
Rafael Duarte, who is tied for 5th in the LS in triples with 15, had a direct impact on the outcome. Duarte contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Toluca up, 2-0.
"It was a good effort all around," said Duarte.
Toluca is now 71-61, while Chiapas is 65-67.
