Isaac Chávez subdued the Toluca Chorizos, 1-0, pitching a 3-hit gem for the Ciudad Mexico Volcanes at La Salchichera.
"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Ciudad Mexico skipper Leonardo Leal said.
Chávez registered 1 strikeout and issued 4 walks in his superb performance.
"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Toluca manager Santiago Ferra after the defeat.
