Belfast Beats Dublin as Rivas Throws 12-0 Shutout
Before the game, Marco Rivas said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Dublin Grounds, the Bards pitcher blanked the Dublin Vikings, 12-0.

"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Rivas said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count."

The Belfast starter held Dublin scoreless, giving up 3 hits while registering 10 strikeouts and issuing 4 walks.

"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Vikings manager Leo Amos said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
