Limerick got a terrific game from center fielder Calímaco Reyes. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Cork, 5-4. Reyes was 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Cork reliever Clodovindo Martín got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Diomedes Ávila was tagged with the loss. The win puts Cork at 11-11.

Cork got a knockout punch from Quincy Watson. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Cork manager Louis Lewis.
