Roaches Solve Tyler in Extra Innings
The Nacogdoches Roaches stopped the Tyler Pecan Kings, 8-7, in 11 innings at Roaches Park. The Roaches got a big game from Dan Petrescu, who was 3-6 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win belonged to Leopoldo Guillén in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Pedro Ayala took the loss for Tyler. Nacogdoches, now 19-6, has gotten their season off to a good start.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the 11th for Nacogdoches. That's when Alberto Medina hit a run-scoring double off 26-year old left-handed pitcher Pedro Ayala to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Petrescu told the Nacogdoches Chronicle. "You win just by scoring more runs."
