The Amarillo Horizons did just enough to sneak past the Wichita Falls Yardmen, 4-3, at Horizons Park. Amarillo pitcher Livio Treviño, in particular, had a standout performance. Jack Carpenter nailed down his 5th save. By defeating Wichita Falls, the third-place Horizons improved to 13-14.
In the bottom of the 5th, Amarillo took the lead on a 2-run single by Taylor James. At the time, the Horizons were trailing 2-1, but James's hit with two outs against Wichita Falls pitcher Pascual Mercado put them in front, 3-2.
Wichita Falls manager Lázaro Grado said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
