Olympians Earn Win with Late Rally
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Tempe Olympians and Tucson Highwaymen.

The Tempe Olympians had to weather a strong performance from Tucson pitcher Breandán Fitzpatrick before claiming a 3-2 win in 10 innings. Fitzpatrick went 9 innings and allowed 1 run. Tempe is now 39-28, 2 games up in the Western Association Phoenix Circuit.

Tempe needed the clutch hitting of Rosendo Mercado to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Olympians on top, 3-1. For the game, Mercado had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

Mercado said afterward that he was glad to help his team win.
