Wichita Falls Earns 3-2 Win
The Wichita Falls Yardmen racked up a win at Yardmen Park, bumping off the Lubbock Layabouts, 3-2. Juan Rivera, who started for Wichita Falls, pitched effectively for his team. Rivera went the distance for Wichita Falls. He gave up 2 runs on 10 hits. By defeating Lubbock, the last-place Yardmen improved to 29-39.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 23-year old left fielder Lucas Mellor had a real shot to win the game. Lubbock pitcher Luis Valentín was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Mellor hit a run-scoring single. The Yardmen had a walk-off triumph.

"Really, really impressed with the way Juan competed and executed pitches," said Wichita Falls manager Lázaro Grado.
