Belfast second baseman Justino Santana contributed significantly to his team's 5-4 win over the Derry Maidens. Santana, who is tied for 9th in the BFS&I with a .389 on-base percentage, went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Bards. Diego Hernández claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 2-1. The 4th-place Bards lifted their record to 27-29.

The most important at-bat for Belfast came in the top of the ninth inning, when center fielder Gregorio Navedo stroked a 1-2 curveball to center for a run-scoring single, putting Belfast up, 5-4.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Santana.
