Yardmen Defeated, 3-2, After Lubbock Rallies
Lubbock Grounds played host to some dramatic action.

The Lubbock Layabouts got a stellar effort from pitcher Luis Valentín, helping Lubbock score a win over the visiting Wichita Falls Yardmen, 3-2, in 13 innings. The first-place Layabouts improved to 43-34.

The decisive moment came in the bottom of the 13th for Lubbock. That's when Silvio Armas hit a run-scoring double off 26-year old left-handed pitcher Casimiro Castro to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Armas. "I like it."
