The New Braunfels Yodelers rode a solid performance from 24-year-old starting pitcher Carlton Milne to a win, beating the San Marcos Cadavers, 2-1, at Yodelers Grounds. Milne, now 10-7, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. The last-place Yodelers lifted their record to 35-44.

New Braunfels got a clutch hit from Amílcar Colmenares. The pinch hitter jolted a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Milne. "Successful pitchers do it."
