Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Cardiff Arcadians take on the Newport Stevedores.

The Newport Stevedores topped the Cardiff Arcadians, 7-2, in Baseball Federation of England & Wales action at Ballpark of Cardiff. The game was highlighted by the performance of Newport pitcher Gareth Cummings. Cummings got the win, improving to 8-10. He gave up 7 hits and walked 3 over 9 innings. He allowed 2 runs.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Felipe Sánchez? The Newport right fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Stevedores on top, 4-1. For the game, Sánchez had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
