Mammoths Top Cadavers, 8-3
|
At Cadavers Park, the San Marcos Cadavers and Waco Mammoths were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Waco Mammoths topped the San Marcos Cadavers, 8-3, in Eastern Association action at Cadavers Park. The standout performance belonged to Waco pitcher and Cardiff, Wales, native Gael Morley. The win puts the Mammoths at 45-42, while the Cadavers drop to 52-35.
Waco used the hitting of Anacleto Trujillo to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mammoths on top, 4-0. For the game, Trujillo had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
In postgame comments to the Waco Daily News, Trujillo said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
