The rain did not keep Inverness and Edinburgh from finishing their game.

Inverness Thistles starter Víctor Hugo Velásquez pitched a strong game against the Edinburgh Claymores at Inverness Fields, leading the Thistles to victory, 8-2. The winner was Velásquez. He threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The loser was José Martínez.

Tied up with the Claymores in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Thistles got a boost from second baseman Desiderio González. With runners on 1st and 3rd, González saw a 1-2 cutter from José Martínez and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Inverness on top, 3-2.

"We didn't get the results that we wanted," said Edinburgh skipper Amílcar Gelada.

The win elevated the Thistles to 39-34.
