6-1 Win for Perth Over Glasgow
|
The Perth Caber Tossers and Glasgow Shipwrights completed their game despite the inclement weather.
Perth starter Abenámar Martínez put a stranglehold on the Glasgow offense. The right-hander had complete command of his curveball in leading the Caber Tossers to a 6-1 win. The winner was Martínez. He threw 6.2 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Aidan Clark.
The Caber Tossers got an important contribution from center fielder Ben Morrison, who in the top of the fourth punched a 1-1 curveball to right for a run-scoring double. It was his 12th double of the season and put the Caber Tossers ahead, 3-1.
"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Perth manager Plutarco Valido.
At 45-39, Perth is in third place in the Baseball Federation of Scotland & Ireland Lig Ball-steidhe na h-Alba.
