Cardiff left fielder Ernesto Martínez had a 5-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Swansea Copper Lords, 12-8. Sloan Mahoney, the winner, is now 5-15. He struck out 1 and walked 3 over 5.2 innings, while allowing 7 runs on 10 hits. The Arcadians improved their record to 46-50 with the win over Swansea.

Martínez had a big hit for Cardiff with two out in the top of the fourth. With Cardiff leading 5-1, Martínez hit a grand slam home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Arcadians up, 9-1.
