Bards Come Up Short at Limerick, 4-3
|
The Limerick Gandelows picked up a win at Gandelows Park, downing the Belfast Bards, 4-3. On the mound for Limerick was right-hander Cipriano Camarada, who played a pivotal role in the win. Eunosto Herrera recorded the save, his 8th. Limerick, now 56-52, holds down third place in the Baseball Federation of Scotland & Ireland Sraith Daorchluiche na hEireann.
Lenny Hamblett dealt the Bards a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Limerick leading 2-0, Hamblett, who is tied for 9th in the BFS&I in stolen bases with 11, hit a first pitch curveball for a 2-run single.
"Overall, Cipriano was fantastic," said Limerick manager Brian Sapsford.
