Ramón Piña pitched well, but the Glasgow Shipwrights still fell short, losing, 4-3, to the Perth Caber Tossers at Perth Fields. Darío Benítez came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-3. By defeating Glasgow, the second-place Caber Tossers improved to 51-47.

Álvar Macías played the role of hero for Perth. In the bottom of the ninth, he launched a solo home run off Ramón Piña to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was the decisive blow.

"Sometimes you get the ball in the right spot and it goes," said Macías.
