With third baseman Cayetano Meza leading the charge, the Wichita Falls Yardmen got a road win over the Tempe Olympians, 10-9, in Game 1 of the Interdivisional Series. Meza went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 at Olympians Ballpark to help Wichita Falls take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.

The Yardmen took the lead, 10-1, in the top of the seventh inning. Facing Tempe hurler Perseo Ibarra with two outs, Esteban Rueda hit a run-scoring double.

"We lost," Tempe manager Matt Austin said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Olympians Ballpark in Tempe.
