Wichita Falls Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in IDS
The Wichita Falls Yardmen silenced the Tempe Olympians to move within one game of the Pennant Championship Series. The Yardmen shut out the Olympians by a final score of 8-0 at Yardmen Park. Wichita Falls right-hander Pascual Mercado had a strong outing. He threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Yardmen a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Interdivisional Series.

Wichita Falls starter Pascual Mercado was exceptional. The 192 cm right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 9 innings of work.

"We're feeling good about this," said Yardmen manager Lázaro Grado. "We have got an advantage now and we just need to keep the pressure on."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Yardmen Park in Wichita Falls.
