Wichita Falls Wins Interdivisional Series
|
The sweet swing of Cayetano Meza has led his team through the Interdivisional Series.
The Wichita Falls Yardmen star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the Tempe Olympians to advance to the Pennant Championship Series.
The Yardmen won the final game at Olympians Ballpark by a score of 3-1 and the series 3-2.
"I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said Meza. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs."
For the series, Meza hit .579 with a .600 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 8 runs.
The Wichita Falls Yardmen don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Lubbock Layabouts - Santa Fe Hollyhocks series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Pennant Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Interdivisional Series finishes.
