The Derry Maidens wasted an impressive 9.2-inning effort from starter Esteban Quezada, falling, 2-1, to the Belfast Bards in 11 innings at Bards Field. The win was credited to Diego Hernández in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Hernán Ocampo took the loss. Belfast is now 43-58. Derry is 52-47.

Belfast won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With one out and Hernán Ocampo on the mound for Derry, second baseman Justino Santana hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Bards fans to their feet.

"That was fun, that was just good baseball," said Santana.
