Tyler Needs 13 Innings to Subdue New Braunfels in Game 1
The Tyler Pecan Kings started the Interdivisional Series in dramatic fashion, stealing Game 1 from the New Braunfels Yodelers in a walk-off in the 13th inning. Tyler took the 3-1 win thanks in large part to a good day from starter Santiago Ayala. The left-hander threw 10.1 innings of 5-hit ball in the win, which gave the Pecan Kings a 1-0 lead to start the best-of-5 series.

Tyler got a clutch hit from Jesús María Sánchez. The right fielder socked a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 13th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was game-ender.

"Every team in baseball loses," Yodelers manager Menelao Martín said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Pecan Kings Stadium in Tyler.
