The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.

Marco Rivas was outstanding against Derry. The left-hander had a curveball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Bards 4-1 win. The 5th-place Bards bumped their record to 52-76.

Rivas went 7.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits. The Belfast left-hander, now 12-19, has an ERA of 4.44 this season.

"No weaving and bobbing. Marco came right after them," said Belfast manager Dáithí King.
