The Winchendon Rocking Horses started the Division Series in style, downing the visiting Woonsocket Foxes at The Toy Store by a score of 11-5 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Rocking Horses right fielder Avelino Pérez was 1 for 3 with 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.

Winchendon pinch hitter Esteban Uria helped the Rocking Horses go up, 6-5, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Uria hit a run-scoring single off Woonsocket pitcher Harry Buckner.

"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'Winchendon Rocking Horses (probably) 1914 Championship of New England Champions'," Pérez told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Toy Store in Winchendon.
