Cranston Breaks Through for First Win in Division Series; Now Trails 2-1
|
Already down in the Division Series, the Cranston Madonnas put on their best show, beating the Griswold Vampires by a final score of 3-2. Vicente Rivera was special. He threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Cranston now trails Griswold 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
Cranston used the timely hitting of Diego Escobar to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Madonnas on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's a huge change in atmosphere versus last game," Escobar said after the win. "I feel like we're back in the mix now. We just can't let up."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Playground of the Night's Children in Griswold.
