When the stakes were high, Hugo Medrano raised his game to match.

The right-handed Medrano turned in a stellar performance in Game 3 of the Pennant Championship Series, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the Santa Fe Hollyhocks to victory. He allowed 6 hits and struck out 9. The win gave Santa Fe a 2-1 lead over the Wichita Falls Yardmen in the best-of-7 series.

Medrano pitched well for Santa Fe. The hard-throwing right-hander went the distance, allowing 1 run on 6 hits.

"I always go out there hoping to contribute," said Medrano.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Yardmen Park in Wichita Falls.
