Cornicos Even With Corsarios After Walk-Off Win
Handed an opportunity to take a commanding lead in the Serie Eliminatoria, the Campeche Corsarios could not close the deal.

Game 4 went into extra frames and the Hidalgo Cornicos emerged victorious, taking a 10-inning, walk-off win by the final score of 6-5. Hidalgo left fielder Gareth Birch was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the win at Jardines de Pachuca to drag the Cornicos back to parity. The clubs are now tied 2-2 in the best-of-7 series.

Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, Augurio Rodríguez wanted to seize the moment and deliver a clutch hit. Campeche pitcher Manuel Nevárez had other ideas. He wanted to end the Hidalgo rally. What happened next? With two outs, Rodríguez reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run -- and the Cornicos erupted in celebration.

"Extras are exciting for the fans, but they are tough for the visitors because every time they're at the plate, they can end it with one swing," said Corsarios manager Juan Vences.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Jardines de Pachuca in Pachuca.
