Perth Rallies for 5-4 Victory
|
The Perth Caber Tossers defeated the Edinburgh Claymores, 5-4, at Perth Fields. Perth was led by 23-year old catcher Urayoán Soto, who was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jorge Flores was the winner. Over 8.2 innings, he yielded 4 runs on 9 hits, with 5 walks and 5 strikeouts. With the win, Perth upped its record to 57-52.
Perth grabbed control in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Ben Morrison delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 5-4, in favor of the Caber Tossers.
"It feels good to get this one," Morrison told the Perth Chronicle.
