Granite Use Late Surge to Win
The Aberdeen Granite picked up a win at Websters Stadium, taking down the Dundee Websters, 5-3. Starting pitcher Lorenzo Maldonado was a big reason why. Maldonado got the win, improving to 11-7. He gave up 11 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 3 runs. The 5th-place Granite bumped their record to 52-55.

Aberdeen used the clutch hitting of Felipe Mendoza to capture the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Granite ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.

Said losing manager Albert Flynn: "We just didn't get it done tonight."
