Ofitserov Schools Belfast in 2-1 Galway Triumph

Galway and Belfast took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Vladik Ofitserov, who is tied for 6th in the BFS&I in strikeouts with 199, imposed his will on the Bards from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the left-hander spearheaded the 2-1 Galway triumph. Galway, now 74-35, holds down first place in the Baseball Federation of Scotland & Ireland Sraith Daorchluiche na hEireann.
The Bards had trouble solving Ofitserov, who surrendered 1 run on 5 hits over 9 innings.
"There is no easy way to lose when you're doing everything you can to win games," said Belfast manager Dáithí King.
