The Aberdeen Granite defeated the Edinburgh Claymores, 7-6, at Ballpark of Aberdeen. Sotero Moreno, who is tied for 5th in the BFS&I in stolen bases with 41, was a standout performer for Aberdeen. His 3 hits included 1 single and 2 doubles -- this in addition to the 3 runs he scored and 2 he knocked in. Jonás Zavala, the winning pitcher, is now 22-7. He went 8.2 innings, allowing 6 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 10 and walking 5. With the win, the Granite have a record of 57-56.

Moreno had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch splitter from Báquides Sánchez, he banged a 2-run double to right, giving the Granite a 5-3 lead. It was the 27th double of the year for Moreno.
