Cruz Helps Trinidad Take Campeonato Interdivisional Game 1
The Trinidad Tabacaleros started the Campeonato Interdivisional in style, downing the visiting Bayamo Rafagas at Campo de los Tabacaleros by a score of 7-2 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Tabacaleros right-hander Hernán Cruz threw 9.0 innings of 4-hit ball.

Cruz gave Trinidad a solid start. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits over 9 innings.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Cruz said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Campo de los Tabacaleros in Trinidad.
