The Lubbock Layabouts topped the Amarillo Horizons, 4-3, in Western Association action at Horizons Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Lubbock pitcher Ricardo Puello. Puello picked up the win for Lubbock, going 8.2 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 7-3. Earning his 5th save of the year was Aristodemo Rocha.

Lubbock used a clutch at-bat from Sorcha O'Rourke to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Layabouts ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"When you have a good rhythm and good flow, it's nice to just go out there and pound the strike zone with confidence," said Puello.
