The Edinburgh Claymores and Inverness Thistles lit up the scoreboard.

The Edinburgh Claymores weathered a fine game by Inverness designated hitter Pelayo Pérez to upend the Thistles, 10-8, at Claymores Stadium. Pérez went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Herminio Cuevas, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings.

Eduardo Sierra, who is tied for 5th in the BFS&I in runs scored with 71, drove in one run for Edinburgh. In a tie game with one out in the bottom of the seventh, Sierra came through with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Claymores in front, 9-8.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Edinburgh manager Amílcar Gelada.

Edinburgh, at 60-59, occupies third place in the Baseball Federation of Scotland & Ireland Lig Ball-steidhe na h-Alba.
