|
Led by 22-year-old Chris James, the Hamilton Hammers downed the Brampton Florists, 8-3. James was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Hamilton. Julio Martínez was the winner. Over 9 innings, he yielded 3 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Brampton drops to 4-3.
With Hamilton leading 5-3 in the bottom of the seventh, James batted against Brampton pitcher Màximo Ruas. James hit a fastball to right for a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Hammers on top, 8-3.
