Kitchener Wins, 11-2, Behind 2 Almanza Home Runs
The Kitchener Wild Pigeons had no problem beating the Markham Wheelwrights, 11-2, at Markham Stadium. Luis Almanza led the way. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for Kitchener. Roberto Quevedo picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-1. He struck out 9 in 9 innings. Kitchener sits at 4-5 in the early going.

Kitchener designated hitter León Gamboa helped his team get ahead early. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.
