Downie Too Tough, Blanks Tijuana Thursday, July 30th , 1914 In a splendid 4-0 shutout performance, Ben Downie of the Coahuila Carboneros subdued the Tijuana Matadores on a 4-hitter. "He kept hitting his spots and putting up zeroes, so I kept sending him out there," Coahuila manager Esteban Bellán said in postgame comments. Downie registered 4 strikeouts and no walks.
