Mexicali Shuts Out Colibris, Marín Winner Friday, August 7th , 1914 Mexicali Algodoneros hurler Augurio Marín was stingy with runs in his latest outing against the Nuevo Laredo Colibris, shutting them out, 4-0, on 4 hits. "Augurio was very aggressive tonight," Mexicali manager Daniel Blair said. "He threw everything he had with a lot of confidence." Through 9 innings, Marín tallied 3 strikeouts and allowed no walks. "He was throwing strikes with all his pitches and mixing it up well," losing manager Luis Estrada said. "Marín has a sneaky fastball, and whatever that off-speed pitch was, it was keeping our timing off." This season, Marín has compiled a 13-12 mark, 3.68 ERA and made 29 starts.
