North Stars Cruise to National Championship of Canada with Sweep Saturday, September 19th , 1914 The Thessalon North Stars have swept the Kitchener Wild Pigeons and are on to the National Championship of Canada. Thessalon won 9-2 today at Wild Pigeons Stadium to clinch the Pennant Championship Series. "We're happy to have put the dagger in when we had the chance," said Thessalon catcher Maikudi Isa, who was named MVP for the series. "It could have been a tough series to finish if we let them start winning." Isa won the award with a .462 batting average and a .500 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Thessalon North Stars don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Gatineau Draveurs - Moncton Magnets series. That series is tied at 1 game each.
