López Twirls Strikers to Shutout Win Friday, September 11th , 1914 Efraín López kept the Steinbach Mennonites hitters from doing much damage at Winnipeg Grounds. Steinbach could only muster 5 hits and draw 1 walk against the right-handed López, who controlled them throughout the game. Winnipeg won the contest, 5-0. López added 8 strikeouts in his complete-game effort. "I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," López told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time." López has made 26 starts this season, posting 9 wins and 8 losses.
