Padilla Gets 5 Hits Thursday, July 23rd , 1914 José Padilla exploded for a barrage of base hits at Werewolves Park. The Santa Fe right fielder had a field day in his team's 5-3 triumph over the Los Lunas Werewolves, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Padilla must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. José Padilla singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. In the 1914 season Padilla is hitting .290 with 6 home runs.
