Killer Cacti Get No Resistance from Yodelers in 10-0 Beat-Down Saturday, August 29th , 1914 Before the game, Xyzzy Plugh said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at San Angelo Stadium, the Killer Cacti pitcher blanked the New Braunfels Yodelers, 10-0. "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Plugh said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my sinker even when I was behind in the count." The San Angelo starter held New Braunfels scoreless, giving up 5 hits while registering 10 strikeouts and issuing 1 walk. "We didn't have very many good at-bats," Yodelers manager Menelao MartÃn said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose." So far this year, Plugh has made 24 starts, tossed 196 innings, struck out 147 batters and walked 36. His record is 12-8 with a 3.08 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .245 batting average.
