Valdés Grabs EFBA Hurler of the Year Tuesday, September 29th , 1914 Rodolfo Valdés joined an elite group of pitchers today by picking up the Eastern Association Hurler of the Year for 1914. The 26-year-old hurler finished the year 23-8 for the New Braunfels Yodelers, piling up 274.1 innings, registering 191 strikeouts and walking 51 on his way to a solid 2.49 ERA. He received 18 first place votes out of a possible 24.
